Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green joined some incredible company in the world of NBA players with a resume that includes two gold medals and three NBA championships. In his career, Green has combined with four NBA all-stars to create a legacy that is unlike any other.
In a league where the highest paid player makes the least money, Draymond Green generates more total value than any player in basketball.
Four of the NBA’s best have multiple gold medals and multiple NBA championships. Who is left? Draymond Green, who just celebrated his 29th birthday on July 27th. Draymond has three rings and two gold medals. Now that’s a whopper of a resume. And the guy doesn’t even play basketball?
The 2020 Olympics are now over, and Team USA has once again reigned supreme in international basketball, despite initial concerns. Team USA overcame criticism to defeat France in the gold medal game, thanks to the outstanding performance of four-time scoring Kevin Durant and the contributions of important players such as Jrue Holiday and Draymond Green is a basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles.
Kevin Durant may have cemented his status as the best player to ever represent the United States, and Gregg Popovich adds another accomplishment to his Hall of Fame coaching resume. However, one player in particular may have earned the highest accolade of all: Draymond Green. The brash defensive player isn’t a spectacular scorer or athlete, but his influence on the court is frequently underestimated and can no longer be ignored. By earning the gold medal this year, he joins a select group of players who have won three rings and two Olympic medals.

Not only was the Lakers great a dominating NBA player, but he was also an Olympic gold medalist. Bryant won two Olympic medals in 2008 and 2012, and in the gold medal game against Spain in 2008, he produced one of the best performances on an international platform. Bryant scored 13 points in the fourth quarter of the game, cementing his status as the NBA’s greatest clutch player outside of Michael Jordan is a basketball player who was born in.
Bryant had a lot of success in the NBA, earning five championships with one team and winning two Finals MVP awards. Bryant nearly always got the job done in critical situations when playing alongside great players like Shaquille O’Neal, and his 5-2 Finals record matches his 2-0 Olympic record.
6 championships, 2 gold medals in the Olympics
Michael Jordan, the greatest athlete in team sports history, dominated basketball like no one else before or after. Wilt Chamberlain holds the record for most wins, although he never had the same success as Jordan. Jordan is renowned for going 6-0 in NBA Finals series with the Chicago Bulls without ever participating in a Game 7.
Jordan was also the greatest player on the court on the world scene. When he played for Team USA in the Olympics, he averaged 16.0 points per game and was one of the tournament’s most dominating two-way players. Jordan was not only the most dominating offensive player, but he also had an undefeated record in the Olympics, which matched his unbeaten record in the NBA Finals.
Scottie Pippen is a basketball player who plays for the Chicago Bulls.
6 championships, 2 gold medals in the Olympics
Scottie Pippen was the driving force behind the Chicago Bulls’ dynasty, winning six championships with Michael Jordan. Jordan has been carrying the squad on his back for years without achieving team success. When Pippen became an All-Star, he aided Jordan in becoming the greatest basketball dynasty in history.
Pippen, on the other hand, shone brilliantly at the Olympics, much outshining everyone else. He was one of the finest players on the “Dream Team,” shutting down most opposition scorers. We haven’t seen a team with greater skill than that, and Pippen was the club’s defensive specialist and playmaker.
LeBron James is a basketball player from the United States.
4 championships, 2 gold medals in the Olympics
The Times of Los Angeles
LeBron James, unsurprisingly, belongs on this list because of his unrivaled ability to influence every basketball game he is involved in. LeBron James is probably the most talented player we have ever seen, whether on a national or international level. James, who stands 6’9″ and weighs 250 pounds and has a high basketball IQ, has the physical tools to dominate all areas of the game.
James has four NBA rings from three different teams, as well as two Olympic medals. Because of his playmaking skills, the King tried his best to surround himself with the proper personnel in order to win NBA titles, and he always thrived with great players around him. With Team USA, he was constantly surrounded by Hall of Fame players, and as a consequence, he won two Olympic gold.
2 Olympic Gold Medals, 3 Championships
Draymond Green, maybe the most improbable name among these players, is one of just five players in history to have won three rings and two Olympic medals. When the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty is discussed, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Klay Thompson will usually come up first, but Green was probably just as essential.
He was the outspoken leader of a group of brilliant but reticent players, and he is one of the most flexible defenders we’ve ever seen. Green’s ability to defend all positions made the Warriors unbeatable, and Team USA would probably not have won Gold if it hadn’t been for his flexibility. The Team USA team was loaded with scorers, but it lacked size and defense. Green is the only player with three rings and two Olympic gold medals, joining Kobe, Jordan, Pippen, and LeBron as the only players with three rings and two Olympic gold medals.
Jason Kidd (46-0) and Michael Jordan (30-0) are two NBA stars who have never lost with Team USA.
Everyone has a list of things they want in life. A list of things they want to achieve. For some it’s to be successful as an entrepreneur, some to get a gold medal in the Olympics, some to own a Disney World resort, some to be a great parent and of course, one of the most important things on my list is to achieve a gold medal in the Olympics..
