As the old saying goes, “one bad day at the office can ruin your entire month”. At least that’s what the Dodgers thought on Thursday as they lost for the first time this season, dropping a game to Atlanta in the fifth inning. Rookie starting pitcher Scott Alexander gave up a four-spot in the fifth, and it became six when the Braves tacked on a fifth, which was made all the more embarrassing by the fact that pitcher Ross Stripling was plunked for throwing behind the hitter on a comebacker to third. The Dodgers went on to lose 9-5.

On Wednesday evening, the Los Angeles Dodgers welcomed the Atlanta Braves to Chavez Ravine. The Dodgers  first two hitters of the game found immediate success against the Braves starting pitcher, Julio Teheran. First, Yasiel Puig hit a line drive home run over the left field wall. Then, Dee Gordon singled, took second on a passed ball, and scored on a wild pitch. The Dodgers wouldn’t stay down long.
