The Green Bay Packers found themselves in hot water with their franchise quarterback last spring when they traded for first-round pick Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL Draft, but some analysts still insist the team is finding creative ways to fix Aaron Rodgers.

During a preview of the 2021 NFL Draft, Anthony Treash of Pro Football Focus stated that the Packers should try to find a trade partner willing to take Love from them to maximize their current Super Bowl window with Rodgers. He even found a potential trade partner, the Pittsburgh Steelers, who were very interested in Love last year.

Staley was apparently very much in love in 2020

Trash’s trade offer is based on two assumptions: that Love’s value has declined since Green Bay selected him 26th a year ago, and that the Steelers are still interested in his potential as Ben Roethlisberger’s successor – if they’re ever really interested in Love.

This is what he suggested:

  • Packers receive: 55 picks (second pick) in 2021 and 2023; third pick.
  • Get the steelworkers: QB Jordan Love

If the Packers want to bet big on Rodgers and dump Love to another team, they could do worse than bring him back as a second and third round pick. They gave up their original 2020 first-round pick last year, as well as a fourth-round pick to move up four spots and get him, but he was relegated to third-string quarterback and didn’t play a drop in his rookie season.

Meanwhile, Rodgers won his third league MVP, which gives people like Treash reason to believe that Love throwing is the best way to go:

Peter King noted in April that he had his eye on both teams, including Love in the 2021 NFL Draft: Green Bay and Pittsburgh. Ben Roethlisberger will likely retire before the 2021 season, and the Steelers don’t have a successor. Green Bay can still get something from the Steelers for 55. The pick and getting 2023 in exchange for Love if they are still interested, which all in all would be good value.

If that were the case, Green Bay would win in games 29, 55, 62, 93, 136 and 143. 2021 NFL Draft Round Pick. These picks can add new receivers and improve the defense, which needs help outside of Alexander and the top safety duo of Adrian Amos and Darnell Savage Jr.

The business of love is still very different from .

Some of the analysts and fans wanted the Packers to get rid of Love since they saw Rodgers play in the 2020 game, but it’s hard to imagine them reversing their decision after only one year, and there’s no real way to see how the former Utah State quarterback handles the situation in a live game.

While the Packers have said they think Rodgers will be their starting quarterback in the near future, they haven’t done anything substantial to support that idea. General manager Brian Gutekunst emphasized that they are still considering options for Rodgers’ contract – and will likely restructure it after the draft – but the only thing that would be really bad news for Love right now would be a contract extension for Rodgers or … Well, an unrealistic trade.
