2020 may not have been a Marvel Cinematic Universe film, but it will not be next year. And, barring another unforeseen global disaster, every two years in the near future. It’s Disney’s cash cow, and they haven’t finished paying out yet. By that time, there should be five, yes, five MCU films in the cinema in 2022. Black Panther 2 and Captain Marvel 2 are on the program for the second half of the year. However, the film in between has not yet been unveiled, leaving little room for speculation.
Dr. Strange in the Madness Multiverse comes in fifth. March 2022 in the cinemas for the first time. Aim: Love and Thunder will be the sixth. May 2022 will follow. Black Panther 2 is currently in 8th place. The dates are July 2022, while Captain Marvel 2 will be released on July 11. The month of November 2022 is planned for the cinemas. Except it would be a clean slate. But between the world of Wakanda and the return of Carol Danvers, there is a Marvel mystery film that is going to be a hit. October 2022. The question is now clear: What’s that? We can only guess, but there are a couple of suitors.
POWERFUL : Black Panther 2 will not be a remake of Chadwick Bozeman’s T’Challa.
Perhaps the most sensible answer is the next restart of Blade. The project, which will include Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, was originally announced during the presentation of Marvel Studios at Comic-Con 2019 in San Diego. Only a few updates were provided during this period. However, during Disney’s presentation at Big Investor Day, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige assured that there would be more details. Plus, a movie like Blade could seriously benefit from a Halloween release. If Vegas would bet on these things, the safe bet would be that Blade would take this mysterious place.
Another option could be an antsman and a wasp: Quantum Mania. The sequel was also recently presented on Investor Day and Kang the Conqueror will see the role of Jonathan Majors in the MCU. Peyton Reed will redirect and direct the two previous episodes, with the return of most of the protagonists. Catherine Newton played Cassie Lang. The film doesn’t have a release date yet, and it looks like he’s going to claim that empty chair, assuming it’s not Blade. Anyone hoping to see a Fantastic Four film as soon as possible should have no illusions. Director John Watts has not yet finished Spider-Man 3, which will not be released in theatres until December 2021.
With Phase 4 of the delayed MCU, the theaters closed for most of 2020 and production stopped for a few months, Disney had a huge list of blockbusters to deal with in the coming years. The result is that we get more Marvel content than ever before. In addition to four or five films a year, we have live action at Disney+, starting with WandaVision in January. The Falcon and Winter Soldier, Loki, Hawkeye, Mistress Wonderful, She-Hulk and Moon Knight are also on their way. You can view the complete list of upcoming events on Marvel.com.
