What would you do if you could go back in time? Christmas comes twice with an answer to exactly this question. This year, Hallmark and its competitor Lifetime have made great strides in their Christmas programming. Hallmark unveiled his first LGBTQ film and a special Christmas series, When the Heart Rings, while Lifetime produces films like Christmas Forever After Christmas. The movie Hallmark Christmas is based on the most magical elements of Christmas, with a plot in which the character of Tamer Mowry-Housley is five years back in time. Cheryl feels she has missed great opportunities in her job, which makes her doubt whether she has chosen the right path in life.
She returns to her hometown, where she takes part in a Christmas carnival with her sister. After making a wish, she finds herself on a merry-go-round that takes her five years to change her fate. Next to Mowry-Housley are film stars Michael Xavier and Cheryl Lee Ralph. The film is also produced by Mowry-Housley.
Christmas comes Twice will not be the last time fans see Tamera Mowry-Housley on the Hallmark Channel, as the actress has signed an agreement with Crown Media Family Networks to play the lead role and produce original content. The Executive Vice President of the Crown Media Family Network announced that it was proud to welcome Mowry-Housley to the Hallmark family, which was accompanied by the announcement that the actor will also join Hallmark’s Home and Family talk show. Deadline reports that Mowry-Housley shares the excitement of the network, not only as an actress and executive producer, but also as a member of the family.
She wondered if the Hallmark film warmed her heart.
Christmas comes twice
Tamera Mowry-Housley told Oprah magazine what she learned from writing Sister, Sister, how she created an amazing platform that can show people that success is important. She wanted to incorporate this experience into a Hallmark film to show women like her that they can see themselves in a Christmas film.
The actor shared with Oprah Magazine that Christmas comes twice – it’s about the love, faith, hope and courtship that many black women have. In the film, Cheryl works as a director’s assistant, after working as an astronomer. It immediately became clear that she was inundated with multiple grant applications. Hallmark’s Christmas film is explicitly about Cheryl not wanting to turn down so many offers, and she describes her work as playing Santa and Scrooge 99 times.
Her regrets soon fade when she hears that a team in Norway has proven that there is a comet that goes beyond Pluto – the comet she was looking for when she was working as an astronomer. Cheryl is a bright, independent woman, which is further evidence of what Mowry-Housley told Oprah Magazine, about how different it is to see someone who looks like they’re getting what they want.
Several references to time are included in the Christmas film, including the fact that Cheryl’s assistant gives her a present because she is always short of time, and several references to the fact that time passes even when someone doesn’t want it. Cheryl insists on correcting past mistakes. So much so that she does everything in her power to prevent her sister from opening the restaurant, so that she doesn’t have to deal with a failure that doesn’t go well.
Tamera Mowry-Housley told Oprah Magazine that Cheryl’s character is a woman who exists only in life and now has a second chance to live life to the fullest. The actor describes the film as a story about the struggle with fate, which is reflected in the way Cheryl realizes that she may have missed a few things when she was so busy trying to get everything under control. Some of the changes Cheryl has had to endure since returning to her hometown are her one-night stand with Terence, who is now the mayor, the new owners who live in her old house because her parents decided to slim down, and the death of her teacher, Mrs. Nelson.
Mowry-Housley suggests that more women need STEM.
A Christmas romance occurs twice between Cheryl and her high school rival, George. They have been looking for each other for years and found themselves in constant competition to prove who was the best.
Their dynamism is full of quarrels and friendly teasing, and Cheryl describes them as friendly rivals or rival friends. Tamera Mowry-Housley told Oprah magazine that the kissing scene was crazy, and that they had intimacy consultants on set who giggled with her all the time. The actress describes how the two ladies sprayed her and Michael Xavier before kissing, and after kissing they rinsed each other and sprayed something in their mouths that kept everyone cool.
Tamera Mowry-Housley told Oprah Magazine that Cheryl’s role was incredible and that she wanted Hallmark to trust her enough to create the character. The actor then explained how powerful and influential plot control is.
Christmas Comes Twice is an important film to show women in STEM and several independent women. In an interview with TV Insider, Mowry-Housley revealed that it is Loni Love (Real) who shares with her the importance of seeing more women in engineering, science, mathematics and technology. Christmas comes twice really shows women in science and innovation by Cheryl and her teacher Mrs. Cheryl. Nelson, who’s an analyst, and Cheryl’s constant encouragement. The actress explained that she wanted to break through the idea that people have of women in STEM by showing a woman who is fashionable and can be romantic and brilliant.
Shooting during a pandemic
Tamera Mowry-Housley told Oprah Magazine that it was a difficult shoot and that she worked hard to keep all her actors and crew happy.
The actor revealed that they make this magical film that has a funny and romantic story and they want people to feel moved by it. This is what emerges from the various themes in the film. Cheryl is literally faced with the question of what she would do if she could turn back time. The film Hallmark ends with Cheryl coming to the surprising conclusion that the life she leads is the life she has always wanted to lead. Mowry-Housley told Oprah Magazine that it was nice to sit in a little silence during the two-week quarantine that took place before the shooting began. The actress explained that she enjoys spending time training, applying makeup, watching children’s films and even having radiant skin.
Without Cheryl, the various funded projects might not have had the money they needed, so she chose to work instead of staying in her hometown with George. After this realization she returns to the magical merry-go-round and before she can tell George how she feels, she is sent back to the present. Her parents have returned to their new home, Mrs. Nelson has passed away and her sister is working on the rehabilitation of her restaurant. Christmas ends twice when Cheryl realizes that the most important thing is not to change her past, but to accept it and choose the next step in her life to become a person who embraces exploration, love and family. Make sure Christmas comes twice on the 26th. December at 4/3 in the morning.
