Whistleblowers and their employees disagree as to whether they prefer physical work in the office or working remotely, as the pandemic is forcing more and more people to work from home.

With some variation by country, our data suggest that people

Physical space is of great value. But the pandemic changed that. Today you must be screened before entering the office, wear a mask when you enter and stay away from the limited number of people allowed to join you. And a lot of people aren’t ready for that. We know from wellness audits and conversations with colleagues that there is a preference for a hybrid model. But none of us really know that, because we don’t have that chance now, so there is a chance that that will change in the future. I speak for myself when I say that even the introverts among us do not have human interaction. Many teams are eager to return to the office because they are forced to work longer hours without a clear separation between work and home in their current environment.
