It’s never too late to give summer blockbuster season a shot! To make sure you’re prepared, Fandango’s Summer Movie Anticipation Charts are your guide to the new blockbusters, including trailers, release dates, and more.
Fandango has released their summer movie anticipation chart for the upcoming blockbuster season. The “Fandango Ticket Scanner” is based on intake data gathered from ticket purchases. This year’s summer blockbuster season will be one of the most crowded in history, with a total of 18 films on track to debut between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend.
As audiences prepare to head back to theaters, Marvel Studios has two of the five most anticipated films of the summer, according to a survey by Fandango! Black Widow is the most anticipated movie by Fandango users. This is a highly anticipated film that will tell fans the story of Natasha Romanoff before her death in The Avengers: Endgame. In fifth place is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which introduces a brand new character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a new era of the franchise begins after the Infinity Saga. DC Comics also has a great movie in the top 5!
According to a Fandango poll, the most anticipated movies of the summer are:
- Black Widow (premiering July 9).
- A Quiet Place Part II (world premiere Friday).
- F9 [Fast 9] (Original air date June 25)
- Suicide Squad (premiering August 6).
- Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (premiering September 3)
Fandango conducted its screening by returning to theaters between May 3. and May 23. 2021 over, the brand said in a press release. The demographic distribution of the group was 65% between the ages of 18 and 54, with 56% identifying as female, 43% as male, and 1% as non-binary. 33% of participants were from the western United States, 29% from the South, 20% from the Midwest, and 18% from the Northeast. 61% identified as white, 22% as Hispanic, 9% as black or African American, 6% as Asian or Pacific Islander, and 5% as other. Many respondents belong to more than one ethnic group.
According to additional information from the surveys, 70% of those surveyed have been vaccinated to return safely for the first time since the COVID 19 pandemic forced theaters to close in March 2020. 13% said they plan to be vaccinated. 78% of those surveyed said other moviegoers were more attentive than usual and there was less texting and talking in the theater, and 85% had been to the movies in the past three months.
Cinema attendance has been hit hard by the pandemic, but cinema chains have done a good job of installing new safety features so that moviegoers can return to the cinema with confidence, said Kevin Shepela, chief commercial officer of Fandango. Our research shows that the hard work of film distributors has paid off: Moviegoers are eager to return to the cinema and are looking forward to the summer movie season. There are already positive signs, as presales for A Quiet Place Part II, which opens Friday at Fandango, are looking good, even if cinema capacity is limited in many areas.
According to Fandango’s survey, 76% of moviegoers say that security measures, such as. B. remote head offices, improved check-in measures and contactless ticketing, make their experience more pleasant, while 86% are also satisfied when ordering concessions. Moviegoers feel so comfortable that 77% said they would feel comfortable in the theater if capacity were increased to 100%.
